Mine Earth is an industry-leading, ethically motivated mine closure consultancy, consisting of geologists, engineers, ecologists, soil scientists, geochemists, environmental scientists, and practitioners with unparalleled experience in mine closure and rehabilitation. Mine Earth is based in O’Connor, Western Australia.
Mine Earth is seeking a highly motivated Environmental / Civil / Mining Engineer to complement our existing team of specialists. The role will involve applying your skills to lead the development of three-dimensional mining landform closure designs, preparation of design and construction documentation, development of detailed cost estimates and supporting the execution of closure earthworks.
The successful applicant will have:
- Relevant professional engineering qualifications.
- Between 5 – 10 years industry experience in mining, environmental and / or civil engineering.
- Experience using CAD earthwork design tools such as 12d, Civil 3D or AutoCAD 3D.
- Experience in working in a team environment and managing schedules and projects.
- Strong communication skills including an ability to communicate designs and technical information to a range of stakeholders
The successful applicant will also have skills in:
- Preparation of written outputs
- Project management
- Preparation of material takeoffs
Other desirable skills include:
- Experience in the management of earthworks
- Surface water modelling
- Landform cover design modelling
- Landform evolution/erosion modelling
- Cost estimation
- Survey experience
- Exposure to mine sites
Our Engineering group has a robust and exciting forward workload. The successful applicant will be exposed to mine rehabilitation projects at a range of stages from initial concept design to execution. The position will be Perth based but may involve occasional short term site visits.
