Deputy Design Team Leader for the design of 5km of twin bored tunnel from ramp (near to Shankar Vihar Metro Station) to Hauz Khas Metro Station on Janakpuri West – Botanical garden corridor, cross passages and tunnel sumps for both temporary and permanent conditions. Design of temporary works such as TBM cradle, TBM thrust frame, foundation for gantry crane and heavy cranes, RC muck pit etc.

2. Delhi Metro Phase III – Contract CC32
Team Leader for the design of 3.4km of twin bored tunnel between Palam Station and Shankar Vihar Station on Janakpuri West – Kalindi Kunj corridor, cross passages and tunnel sumps for both tempoary and permanent conditions, preparation of Geotechnical Interpretative Report (GIR), settlement analysis and proposal of instrumentation along the tunnels.

3. Tender Design for Contract T207, Construction of Tunnels from Crossover Tunnels to Springleaf Station for Thomson Line.

Team Leader for the design of escape shafts and temporary works design for cross passages, settlement analysis and proposal of instrumentation along the tunnels.

Senior Geotechnical Engineer

1. Proposed Upgrading of Underground Link between Orchard MRT and Tangs Plaza (April 2012 to present). The duties and responsibilities are summarised as follows:

– Working for a contractor, carried out temporary retaining wall designs with ground anchors and steel struts for the upgrading of an existing underground link.

– Analysed temporary works alternatives using Plaxis 2D for the above works including flexible retaining wall analysis of various cofferdam schemes.

– Providing technical advice related temporary works design to contractor.

2. Tender design for Construction of Jakarta Mass Rapid Transit Project, Phase 1, Underground Section, Contract Package of CP104 (Jan 2012 – April 2012 )

– Responsible for temporary works design for one whole station.

– Author of geotechnical interpretative report.

– Developed alternative schemes and presented to clients.

– Design of Ground improvement for Tunnel break in and break outs

– Carried out SEEP/W analysis to provide large array of deep pumping wells around the station for the purpose of lowering water table.

1.0 Tender Design for Design and Construction of North – South Transmission Cable Tunnel Project, Contract NS1 & NS2 (Sep 2011 – Dec 2011 )

– Involved in temporary works design for three shafts and tunnel lining design.

– Responsible for design temporary works for ventilation buildings and equipment buildings.

2. Design Check for Design and Construction of Underground Section from Central Station to Subhas Sarobar, Contract UG2 of Kolkata East West Metro Line,India (Oct 2010 – Aug 2011 )

– Provision of design checking services for the temporary retaining structures for three underground stations and performed independent analysis and design calculations.

3.1 The Central – Wan Chai Bypass and Island Easter Corridor Link Project(CWB)
3.2 Guangzhou – Shenzhen- Hong Kong Express Rail Link Project (Tunnel Contract 823A)

– Involved in the development of earth retaining scheme for cut and cover tunnel where diaphragm walls were adopted as permanent and temporary retaining wall. Performed excavation analysis, foundation design and excavation support system design.

– Involved in Tunnel Lining Design for Contract 823A.

4. Design and Construction of Station and Tunnels at Newton for Downtown Line Stage 2 (C920) (Oct 2009 – April 2010 )

– Involved in underground temporary works design for main station box and carried out geotechnical analysis using Plaxis 2D.

– Preparation Impact Assessment Reports for adjacent buildings along the tunnels under C920 contract.

5. Circle Line (CCL) Stages 4 &5 – Contract C855 (July 2007 – Oct 2009 )

– Supervision of geotechnical works such as Bored pile construction, site investigation, ground anchors, strutting work, pre loading, recharge well installation, installation of instruments, etc.

– In charge of testing and installation of strain gauges and load cells for real time strut monitoring for construction of underground MRT station, Macpherson station under Circle line stage 2

– Engaged geotechnical instrumentation for various bore piling works and preparation of test pile reports including analysis of results.

– Supervision of installation of stain gauges, load cells and tell tales for pile load test.

– Preparation of proposals for bored piles geotechnical instrumentation
