Civil QA Engineer/Laboratory Engineer (Seconded to KHP Project)

Report directly to Karebbe Hydro Electric Power Project (KHEPP) Quality Assurance (QA) Manager with following responsibilities:
1. Conduct quality assurance program working with Contractor quality control Manager/Engineer
2. Verify the result of QC test conducted by Contractor to ensure the materials comply with standards and specification
3. Monitor construction activities for compliance with drawings and specifications
4. Maintain records of all materials testing and a daily diary of activities witnessed
5. Verify that work methods utilised by contractor are in compliance with the approved specifications.
6. Liaise with Contractor’s staff to ensure contractor is applying the correct materials to comply with standards and specifications.
7. Report directly to Karebbe QA Manager and working as his delegate when delegated

Karebbe Hydro Electric Power is a third Hydro Electric Power at Vale Inco Indonesia, located in Karebbe, South Sulawesi. The dam is designed using around 150,000 M3 Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) and 200,000 M3 Conventional Concrete (CVC). The project is also covering 1 kilometer Mountain Road Relocation (US$ 6 Million) due to the existing public road will be under water.

The expected power capacity output after commissioning will be around 2 X 55 MW = 110 MW

Civil/Structural Design & Construction Engineer at MBDG Fuel Conversion to HSFO Power Generation

1. Working with Project Manager in providing civil/structural budget estimate for capital appropriation request (CAR) arrangement (budget approval).
2. Reviewed geotechnical report provided by consultant and working for earth works design with Senior Geotechnical Engineer.
3. Provided designs for several civil/structural works (engineering work package – EWP) such as fuel purifier building structure complete with monorail hoist for operation and maintenance purposes, daily and settling tank sheet pile foundation and upper structures, fuel booster and lube oils structure complete with monorails for operation and maintenance purposes, pipe and cable trench, pump house structures complete with monorails, etc.
4. Procure civil/structural materials complete with materials description using MR, advice of delivery time and provided materials conformance to standards and specifications.
5. Working with Project Manager to arrange and develop civil/structural scope of works for tendering and contracting out job to national contractor
6. Assist construction manager during construction to advise the construction method and conformance to drawing and specification mentioned in engineering work packages (EWP).
7. Resolve technical issues for civil/structural related during construction and commissioning stages.
8. Conduct hand over with contractors, record documents and close-out project.

Engineering Student Coops (Talent Pool Program)

1. Involved in technical feasibility study for Karebbe hydro-electric project and road relocation study assisting Senior Project Engineer of Karebbe Power Generation Project. This study comprised the positioning of dam location, environmental study (UKL/UPL and forestry issue), initial budget estimate, surveys and geotechnical investigations.
2. Conducted and assisted in Larona Canal risk assessment as part of hydropower generation maintenance such as rebar test along the canal using micro cover meter and wall movement checks, piezo-meter installation and constant head test, plate bearing test, boring log supervision, done by CV. Helai Contractor.
3. Complete engineering design calculations to meet accepted design standards, project scope and PTI specifications.
4. Assist in resolving technical issues for some capital projects during construction phase such as understanding and interpretation of drawings and specification
5. Involved in safety layer audit (SLA) program for some capital projects conducted by PTI construction manager and team.
6. Conducted ITP (quality control program) for PETEA bridge construction project such as pre-concrete inspection, supervision during concrete pour, concrete curing time, structural paint film thickness check, etc.
